Gamer's Paradise Charity Tournament

Break is over and I'm going to be incredibly late to this week's meeting. Hopefully David will be able to bring the games to the meeting relatively on time in my stead, but I'm sure games will reach the room somehow.

In much cooler news, Gamer's Paradise Charity Tournament will be going on the weekend of March 30-31, 12:00-6:30 PM!
We are hosting five awesome tournaments:

Starcraft 2: HotS
DotA 2
Settlers of Catan
Super Smash Bros. Brawl
Magic: The Gathering

All tournaments will have a $5 entry fee and have marginally attractive prizes TBA. All of your delicious money will be funneled through us and directly to Child's Play.

Starcraft 2 will be 1v1, best of 3, single elimination.

DotA 2 will be solo mid, double elimination, best of 3, unless we get enough interest to prove that we will have more than 3 or 4 teams.

Settlers of Catan will be run akin to these rules. They are subject to modification depending on the amount of participants.

Super Smash Bros. Brawl will be run by someone who knows more about the subject than me.

Magic: The Gathering will be a Gatecrash draft. Due to this, the entry fee for this tournament will be $15 as you are also paying for your packs.

Once the tournament days near we will have much more information, but if you are interested, feel free to send an e-mail to dukegamersparadise@gmail.com.

Not Quite Spring Break Break

If your past few weeks have been anything like mine, you can't wait for spring break to finally arrive. So, we are taking a break from any theme this week. However, since there will be an entire week of not school to plan things, I want to know what you guys want to see DAGGER do in the near future. I'm currently thinking of more Murder in the Dark and something similar to Nerf Wars soon.

In the vein of things DAGGER is hosting, I want to remind everyone that we are hosting a series of charity tournaments March 30-31. We already asked about any particular choices for a board game tournament, but there are still two events up for debate.

What we know we are going to have in some way shape or form:
Magic: The Gathering Draft
Starcraft II
Settlers of Catan

What we have to decide between and you can send long emails about why one is better:
DotA 2 or League of Legends
Super Smash Bros. Brawl or Melee

All of these tournaments will have small entry fees and small prizes (though I can't quite speak for the draft, MTG is an expensive hobby). All profit is going to go straight to Child's Play Charity though.

Regardless, I hope everyone has an awesome, not full of class, spring break.
