"Cards are war, in disguise of a sport" -Charles Lamb

I hope everyone enjoyed classic card games night! Whether you played Spades, Hearts, Sequence, War, or anything else, we're glad you decided to make DAGGER a part of your Thursday night.

September 30th: Classic Card Games

DAGGER is putting on its poker face this week in preparation for Classic Card Games Night on Thursday. We'll be playing any game that uses a traditional deck of playing cards. As usual, we'll be in Soc Sci 105 starting at 8:30, and we'll be there through around midnight, so come join us! We'll have several decks of cards, but you're welcome to bring your own as well. We'll also have at least one board game that uses a couple sets of classic cards. Bring your Queens, bring your Jacks, and bring your Kings and play some card games with us!

Video Games Recap

I hope everyone enjoyed the video games we had for you last week. Homework kept me away for most of the night, but I did stop by to see people banging away on some Rock Band drums, beating up each other's characters in various ways, building up plant defenses against zombies, and playing Mahjong.

This Week at DAGGER: Video Games!

This Thursday at 8:30PM, the TVs lining the walls of Soc Sci 105 will be filled with Brawl, Mario Kart, and other video games, as the front projector screen is providing entertainment for all in Rock Band. We've got 5 displays to work with here, so if you've got a game you want to play, go ahead and bring it!

General Games Night Recap

Hey everyone! We loved the large crowd we had this past Thursday night! We hope you all had a generally fun night generally playing general games. There was so much going on that I know I missed some of it. Here's what I did see though:

-Card grabbing in Set
-Monster killing in Munchkin
-Smahing in Brawl
-Word building in Bananagrams
-Resource collecting in Settlers of Catan
-People playing Dominion
-Rule changing in Fluxx
-Betrayal in...uh...Betrayal

We hope to see you again this week for something a little less general.

Activities Fair

Thank you to everyone who signed up for the DAGGER email list at the activities fair this afternoon. If you have made your way to the DAGGER blog from a flyer you got at the Smash Tournament or the activities fair, WELCOME! I hope to see you at future DAGGER meetings.

Congratulations, Michael!

Thank you to everyone who came to the Smash Tournament last night! I hope you all had fun. For those of you who weren't there, here's a recap:

With 24 people participating in the tournament, we ran one-on-one matches, best 2 out of 3, on the 4 TVs in the room until we reached the final 3 contestants. At this point, we moved to a round-robin finals round on the big projector screen. Congratulations to Liang on getting third place, Will on his second place finish, and especially Michael, the winner of the tournament. I hope you enjoy your prizes!

Meanwhile, in the same room, games of Betrayal, Bang!, and Bananagrams gave those not playing Brawl something fun to do. After the tournament, these games and some "just for fun" games of Brawl finished off the evening.
