Reconciliation Acheived

DAGGER and the Letter E have successfully reached an agreement!

Feel free to revert to previous usage of all letters of the alphabet.

TRASH FIFTH ALPHA-THING!

At DAGGR last Thursday, friction with fifth alpha-thing hit a climax with a war against this imposing symbol. Fighting against fifth alpha-thing, Daggrlings partook of gobbling worms, playing cards to discard all, Banging, producing and trading goods, racing and crashing small plastic cars, playing Dominion, and arranging wood things into words on a board, and drawing on a chalkboard.

I also saw a round or two of Rock, Bomb, Scissors.

Gamers' Paradise Recap

Thanks to everyone who came to Gamers' Paradise on Saturday! We raised $122 for Child's Play and had a great time. In addition to tournaments, we had people playing Rock Band, Smash, Left 4 Dead, Mario Kart, DDR, Bang, Dominion, and Citadels.

Congratulations to the winners of the tournaments!
Mario Kart Wii: Chris
Super Smash Brothers Brawl: Andrew
Rock Band: Alex, Chris, Lisa, and Steven

All of our winners received free XBox 360 games from our Microsoft campus rep, Willie. Willie also had some other freebies available for everyone, and we had bags of chips, soda, and pizza!

We also had at least one person who came by just to hang out even though she wasn't interested in playing any of the games. And thanks to the freshmen who helped some upperclassmen get brunch at the Marketplace beforehand!

Gamers' Paradise Tomorrow!

We're gearing up for Gamer's Paradise, which is going to be a huge event in GA Downunder TOMORROW, 2-10PM. It truly will be a "Gamers' Paradise," in that while there will be lots of video games and video game tournaments, we will also have the usual selection of board games, card games, and other games that Daggerites know and love. So even if you're not competing in a tournament, don't know the difference between an analog stick and a twig, or simply can't stand video games, come on out anyway for an absolutely awesome time.

Tournaments details:
2:30 pm Mario Kart $4
3:30 pm Smash Brothers $4
5:00 pm Rockband $4 for individual or $10 for 4 person band
Play in all tournaments for $10

All proceeds go to Child's Play to give entertainment to children's hospitals.

Hope to see you there for all the fun games and some free food!

Water Features Recap

This week, your DAGGER officers sorted through the game options and brought you a collection of games with water features. We had people wandering through a creepy house when suddenly they found a lake levitating on the second floor. Others navigated across a river by flicking stepping stones into place. Some built castles and roads and tried to claim these for themselves. And some...had wells. (I'll admit to not knowing enough about Dominion to be able to say more about it than that!) Even German professors like playing games!
But no one ate small fish with larger fish.

The theme of water even extended to our entertainment for the night, with songs like Under the Sea. Music is just one of the uses of the technological system in Soc Sci 105. We also used it to put the blog on display, clarify rules, and...do homework?

Also, let this be your notification that DAGGER and the letter E are currently at odds. Soon, we may have to turn our backs against this letter and leave it out of our thoughts and speech.

Water, Water, Everywhere...

...Especially at DAGGER this week! This Thursday at 8 PM, we will be playing games with water features. From the levitating lake that falls to the basement in Betrayal to the aquaduct in San Juan, and everything between and beyond, don't miss the watery fun in Soc Sci 105!

Let's do the Murdering Dance!

*taptap*

Last week at DAGGER, we played Murder in the Dark. Alternating between wandering around a building and discussing what happened while everyone was wandering around the building, Murder in the Dark plays pretty similarly to Mafia, but with more paranoia. Never trust your friends. (You just might learn that your boyfriend and roommate are both murderers.)
